Hi! I’m Mander and I’m going to be a sophomore at Chapelgate Christian Academy this coming school year. Yes! I’m not at the bottom of the food chain anymore! 😉 I am so excited and eager to see how God will be working in our AIX-ceptional team and how lives will be touched in Aix en Provence. Our God is so powerful and almighty yet He has the softness and gentleness to love each and every person-young and old.

I hope the children at the day camp we will be working with will know and believe that truth. I am also so pumped to see what big and unbelievable things God will do in Europe, since Europe is straying away from Jesus Christ more and more everyday. I just can’t wait to see the Kingdom of God grow exponentially and uncontrollably.
Hey!! I’m Katie Sheng, one of Tony’s daughters and right now I’m a freshman at Atholton High School. This year, being my first year in high school, I have seen a completely new need for love and grace among people I see everyday that I never really understood before. This makes me so motivated for the summer, seeing people learn about a God that loves unconditionally. I’ll be traveling to Aix, France and Phoenix, Arizona this summer and I can’t wait to see the ways each of these churches is reaching out into their community and proclaiming God’s story to the people they’re serving. The camp in Aix is going to be wonderful- I’m excited to meet new people and be a small part of the love that ICCP is pouring into Aix. The Ember team is amazing and I hope this trip will be a catalyst for change in Howard County as our team brings back the perspective and spirit of living with a mission.
Hey, I’m Measu Bellay. I’m a junior in high school and this is going to be my third mission trip. I’m so AIXited about serving the people of France this summer. I would have never thought that I’d be going on a mission trip to Europe in my life. However, God has a way of planning things a little differently than I do. Not till recently did I begin to realize the decline of Christianity in Europe, and how important it is to reach them. I’m so excited to serve with the youth of Aix and expose them to the amazing love of God through the camp at ICCP. I love the idea of investing in the youth of the area by planting seeds in a Post- Christian country. I pray the Lord will guide us in the right directions, and that we grasp the importance of reaching out to people that have not been exposed to Christianity. I hope to gain understanding of the situation in Europe, and learn how to use Christ’s love to expose people to His greatness. I’m so excited for the plans that God has for this team and cannot wait to serve his people. 🙂
Hey, I’m Deanna! And I’m about to graduate High School and go to Towson! Whoo hoo! So I’m really excited to be a part this team and a part of the summer camp in Aix. I want to be an elementary school teacher, so I can’t wait to meet and get to know the kids. I really hope that this team will change the lives of the kids who attend camp and their parents; i really love the idea of
I’m on the right:)
reaching an area through the younger generations so that their mindsets and attitudes change. I also want to see how this camp works because I want to one day be a missionary, which will probably involve kids and teaching because they’re my passions! I just really can’t wait to see what God has in store for this team and for the kids that come to camp. I really want to see the glory of God revealed!
Hi guys! My name is Hope Koumentakos and I am currently a junior in high school. I’m super excited about this “Ember X” Trip to France because although I’ve been to Europe before, I have never visited with a missions mindset. After interning with the Ember Cast for a little while now, I’ve been able to learn so much about how historically, cultural trends in Europe foreshadow what will soon happen in the United States. Since Europe has developed a Post-Christian and Post-Modern mindset where absolute truths and religion are often purposely avoided and denounced, I pray that the Lord will help me to grasp the urgency of the Great Commission, especially in western civilizations. I hope that I will learn a lot on this trip, form bonds with my AMAZING team, grow in my faith, and learn more about how Jesus wants to use me on this Earth and how I can lead others with love.
Tony Sheng here. I’m one of the leaders of this team and super excited for our team as we prepare and for our time in France. I’m way futuristic which is part of what drives this team for me so although some team leaders in my role would be happy with a great experience, I’m looking at maybe a few hundred years down the road. Weird I know… what will define this experience for me is how well the future has changed because of this team. Who are the people that have changed, what elements of culture have been redefined because of this team, what kind of initiatives to affect humanity have been started by people on our team or mentored by team members. 500 years is a long time…. but only if you focus on the days.
